Lecture Capturing or Online Training

January 1, 2000

A lecture or training session today typically includes a screen showing content from a laptop.
In order to capture the lecture it is necessary to record from two inputs, a live feed from a camera and the HDMI output from the laptop.
These two inputs could be recorded and streamed separately to an online platform using two live encoders. Alternatively, a low cost HDMI selector can select which is captured and streamed or by a small live video processor with PiP (Picture in Picture) or side-by-side scaling could be used for streaming both in one video image.
Separately recorded videos would then later be combined in an NLE to produce an edited file for uploading.
